EIU twice scored on 3-pointers at the buzzer to force overtime, Jeremy Granger hit a 3-pointer with 7 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game at 77. In the first overtime Joey Miller hit a 3 with time expiring to tie the game at 89 and force a second over time.

Jeremy Granger led EIU with 27 points (6 rebounds and 3 assists) but fouled out in the final seconds off the 1st overtime. Central Arkansas would go on a 9-0 run to put the game away.

EIU was called for 31 one fouls with Central Arkansas hitting just 26 of 46 free throws.

Freshman Joey Miller played 34 minutes and had 14 points on 4 of 9 shooting. He also has 6 assists. Fellow freshman Josh Piper had 10 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and a block in 23 minutes.

James Hollowell had his best game of the year so far scoring 14 points and grabbing 9 rebounds.

After this performance, the EIU defense, considered a strong point, is very suspect.

Attenedence at the game was 398.

Next up for Eastern Illinois is a home matchup with Maine next Wednesday.

Coach Mike Miller didn't need Shaun Pratl because EIU had such strong inside defenders without him. It doesn't look like anyone played defense in this one. What happened to the vaunted "Miller Stall" offense that tries to hold down the opponent scoring?

You might be on the right track. Quite often over the last few years Coach Miller would say after a game that "...we need better discipline...we didn't hold the ball deep enough into the shot clock during our offensive sets..." Slow down offenses do hold down the score on both ends and is good strategy when your team is not very good. 96 points was more than Miller's team might have scored during a full week of games last year but the team still isn't very good. And to make matters worse, they don't seem to have discipline. I mean 107 points? Even with the 2 OTs, that is a little over the top. Central Arkansas isn't a Big Ten team for crying out loud.

EIU should hope that when they go to play NORTHWESTERN later this year that their is a blizzard and the game is canceld! Or the score could be way way higher.
