That and everyone is complaining about them on Twitter…
But nevertheless, after today’s games, everyone has a break over the next 2 days, before 10 teams play on Saturday. The only one not playing?
Murray State, because they’ll be traveling to play Memphis. And so will I. Well, traveling. I will not be playing. That wouldn’t end well.
Here’s today’s first word:
[Illinois St. (5-3) at Morehead St. (4-5) 6:00 p.m.] Morehead State is 2-0 at home, but this is the biggest test the Eagles have faced in E.T. Johnson Arena. Neither team plays in a hurry, but the Cardinals have a much more efficient attack going up against an Eagles defense that has struggled all season. That attack is extremely balanced, with 3 Cardinals averaging between 12.0 and 12.4 points a game. Seriously, that balanced. The Eagles must also limit turnovers, something they have struggled with throughout the year. Terrance Hill hasn’t has the strongest outings over his past 3 games, but co-senior guard Ty Proffitt has played much better over that same stretch.
[Oakland City at Eastern Illinois (5-2) 7:00 p.m.] Eastern Illinois has played the most home friendly schedule in the OVC, and it shows in their record. They should pick up their 5th win at home today against Oakland City.
[East Tennessee St. (3-4) at Tennessee Tech (3-4) 7:30 p.m.] Tennessee Tech’s schedule has also been home friendly, only their home hasn’t been as friendly to them. The Golden Eagles will likely look to slow down the game against the up-tempo Pirates, who use that tempo to help force over 18 turnovers a game, 18th in the nation. Surprising for a team that likes to run, East Tennessee St. isn’t that deep, with only 7 players seeing significant minutes. Tennessee Tech should try to draw early fouls against their forwards: There are only 4 on the roster, and only the 2 starters have played in every game.
