Earlier today, I posted video of Leon Powell’s putback against Murray State, which was nominated for the GEICO Play of the Year. One my commenters thinks this putback by Racers forward Ed Daniel was better. Both are posted below. Which one is better? Vote at the bottom of the page.

Whose putback was more impressive?

Daniel's was a nice put-back, but (in my opinion) Powell's contained far more difficulty. Daniel's rebound landed right at his chest, and he then jumped up and slammed it home in one motion with both hands. However, Powell's rebound was still airborne a few feet over his head while Powell (also airborne at the time) threw it back down with one hand. There's a good reason why ESPN and GEICO enjoyed Powell's dunk. You don't see those every day in college basketball.

Im going with Ed's for this reason...Powell's dunk only happened because he practically stiff armed Ed to keep it from getting blocked. Ya it looks better since it was one handed over Ed, but in Ed's dunk, he simply found an open lane to run up and actually dunked it OVER a couple players with authority. I guess I'm biased too since I am a Racers fan. Both were great, but Ed's was a bigger play in a bigger moment

Maybe I'm viewing it through SEMO-colored glasses, but Powell didn't stiff arm Daniel. If anything, Daniel fouled him. Powell was already well into his leap without any contact at all, and only put his hand out to shield himself.
