Before Murray State took the floor against Marquette, Murray State head coach Steve Prohm was named as the National Coach of the Year by the magazine Basketball Times.
While Prohm will downplay the award, it’s a great accomplishment for the Racers head coach, given what he’s been able to do in his first full season. A lot of people are Racers fans are upset Prohm is being left off other Coach of the Year lists, but his accomplishments have gone far from overlooked.
Just ask the teams needing a head coach next year.
