Everyone that saw what Isaiah Canaan did this past year knows that the Murray State is likely NBA bound after his senior season. But he might not be the only Racer hearing his name called.
Many people at Amar’e Stoudemire’s Skills Academy Camp over the past weekend believe Ed Daniel has what it takes to make it to the NBA as well, according to WPSD Local 6.
In fact…one agent took it a step farther, saying on twitter that Daniel will be drafted, and was one of the most impressive players at the camp.
“Daniel was explosive, moved very well and crashed the glass,” according to @ProBBallDraft. “Had a few wow moments.”
There were definitely flashes of being a great player last season, especially in the NCAA Tournament. As a defender, Daniel was one of the better big men in the OVC, drawing a seemingly endless barrage of charges. Offensively, Daniel struggled at times, and he finished just 11th in the OVC in rebounding, but havingIvan Askaas a teammate can definitely be part of the reason, as is the Racers efficient offense, that left fewer chances for an offensive rebound.
If the Racers do have 2 NBA caliber players next season, and it appears that they do…it gives you reason to believe they might actually be able to improve on a 2-loss season.
The big question, can Daniel and Canaan get the Racers to the Sweet 16, and beyond?
