SEMO’s newest defensive back coach was a quarterback and a wide receiver as a player. Seriously…

Jake Dickert has also been a secondary coach and special teams coordinator in his 4-years of coaching football. Full press release from SEMO after the jump.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri hired Jake Dickert as its defensive backs coach Wednesday.

Dickert spent the 2011 season as secondary coach/special teams coordinator at the University of South Dakota. Prior to that, he was a member of the North Dakota State coaching staff for three years.

While at North Dakota State, Dickert worked with the safeties and was involved in recruiting and assisting with special teams. He was also a defensive graduate assistant at Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

A native of Kohler, Wis., Dickert played quarterback at UW-Stevens Point from 2002-04 and wide receiver from 2005-06. He was an all-conference wide receiver.
