No, you didn’t read the headline wrong. Kevin Murphy says being with the Utah jazz is forcing him to learn how to play slower, after spending 4-years with the up-tempo Golden Eagles.
In an interview with the Standard-Examiner, Murphy says “everything was faster in college.”

Murphy looked a little lost during his debut game Monday, but got into the game as it progressed and had a nice two-man game going with Michael Green in the back court. He’s been more of a stop-and-pop/catch-and-release shooter and needs to work on creating more opportunities. On Tuesday, he hit a big jumper with two to go that helped Utah maintain a two-possession lead.
Murphy is still in that critical place for a second rounder where they’ll determine whether he’s good to go in the NBA, or if a year in the D-League or overseas would benefit him more.
