Dickie Nutt has hired Jonathan Cremins as their No. 3 assistant, according to the Southeast Missourian.
If the last name sounds familiar, Cremins is the nephew of Bobby Cremins, the coach for the past 30 years at Georgia Tech before retiring last year.
According to the paper, Cremins has yet to sign a contract, which a source calls a formality.
Cremins spend two years under his uncle, before being hired by Nutt, which makes up all of his post-graduate collegiate coaching experience. Cremins spent time as an high school assistant, after spending years as a Graduate Assistant at his alma mater, Valdosta State.
Cremins joins veteran coach Jessie Evans as new additions to Nutt’s staff. Evans was named as the top assistant earlier in the summer. Jamie Rosser returns as the middle assistant.
