Classes have already begun at Southeast Missouri State University, but one of the Redhawks incoming freshman basketball players isn’t on campus for his first day.
In fact, he may miss more than a few.
According to the Southeast Missourian, freshman point guard C.J. Reese hasn’t been cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse.
Head coach Dickey Nutt doesn’t appear too concerned yet, telling the newspaper that it’s normal, and that “many kids around the country are waiting on the NCAA Clearinghouse.”
Reese is considered the star of this freshman class for Nutt.
The Redhawks other two freshman, guard Jared White and center Colin Ferguson, are both in class this week.
As for JUCO transfer Anthony Jones, who arrived on campus last year but was unable to practice or receive a scholarship due to a one-year residency requirement, he is in class as well, and now eligible to practice and play with SEMO this season.
