Isaiah Canaan has been named a preseason All-American by the Associated Press.
Canaan joins Cody Zeller of Indiana, Doug McDermott of Creighton, Deshaun Thomas of Ohio State, C.J. McCollum of Lehigh and Trey Burke of Michigan.
Last season,Canaan earned second-team All-America honors when he led Murray State to a 23-game winning streak to start the season, top 10 ranking, the third round of the NCAA tournament and a 31-2 record. Canaan averaged 19.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game while shooting 45.6 percent from 3-point range.
Canaan recieved 45 votes from the 65 member panel, 3rd highest behind Zeller and McDermott.
