After a disappointing season for the Golden Eagles, Tennessee Tech wide receiver Da’Rick Rogers has informed the school that he will enter the NFL draft at the end of this season.
Rogers, who is among the top-10 in the conference in reception and receiving yards per game, came to Tennessee Tech this season after being dismissed from the University of Tennessee for two failed drug tests and repeated run-ins with the coaching staff, according to multiple reports.
Rogers will most be remembered for his 303 yards receiving in Tennessee Tech’s loss against Southeast Missouri in September, but outside of that game he hasn’t been the most successful receiver in a pass friendly conference. Rogers averages 84.5 yards per game, well behind conference leader Eric Lora‘s 147.9 per contest.
SB Nation believes that Rogers could be a picked in the top 3 rounds in the draft, but notes that the pre-draft process could be crucial for Rogers to prove that he has matured in the past season.
Tennessee Tech is just 3-7 on the season, and 1-6 in the OVC.
