SIU Edwardsville forward Mark Yelovich is offically day-to-day after apparently injuring his ankle during the second half of Saturday’s loss to Texas Pan-American. According to the Sports Information Department at SIUE, Yelovich is off crutches, but was in a walking boot on Monday.
There’s no word on the full extent of the injury.
The Cougars are back in action Saturday when they host Chicago State. There’s no word on Yelovich’s official status for that game, but being that he’s currently in a walking boot, it’s unlikely the senior will see action.
SIU Edwardsville has two games the following week, traveling to Northern and Western Illinois.
Yelovich’s production has been down this year. The forward is averaging 8.8 points a game, nearly half what he was scoring a year ago. He also pulls down 6 rebounds a contest.
