Its the Christmas season and the non conference portion of schedules are winding down and starting next week we begin conference play. I decided that it would fun to do power rankings in a holiday way, what each school would like the big man in the red coat to bring them on the big day. Now some of them are serious and can happen, some are just crazy but what Christmas list doesn’t have crazy things.
The Racers have done well lately having won everything since last power ranking, but its evident that they need a bench presence and Mushatt will be that. According to Prohm however he says they will take it easy with him and they look for him to be back anywhere from mid January to February.
This one comes courtesy of our faithful leader and head writer Catlin. He is right though, the Bruins love his defending and scoring ability but would love to have another one of him on the defensive end. Of course the a 3 point team, his 50.6% arc percentage would be nice to have on the bench along with on the floor.
This one is too easy for a wish, but every team on the naughty list of the NCAA is asking for the same thing. The Gamecocks have been a surprising team and will the the SIUE of this season as they look to play the Grinch for the upcoming conference schedule.
The strong point of this team in down in the post, just look at the stats for both Tyler Stone and Nino Johnson. But what they need is a guard that can help the big men down low. Plus it would help to cause some turnovers on the defensive end for the RedHawks.
We have discussed this recently but the schedule didn’t show it, then came their first loss to Illinois and after the loss we were here going hmm well maybe they could be something in the east division. Then came a loss on the road, where they will be til January, to North Carolina A&T. We will see about the Colonels.
The Golden Eagles live and die on the body of Jud Dillard who is 2nd in the conference in scoring at 19pts a night. After that there is not a double digit scorer. Tennessee Tech needs someone to help Dillard, anyone or this team could be a bubble team for the tournament.
The Cougars were our team that was supposed to make a splash and to an extent we look wrong but we havn’t jumped off the bus yet. We havn’t seen this team at totally 100% but the Cougars know they will try to be healthy for conference play. This team needs Jerome Jones and Yelovich to win.
The Eagles have commited 291 fouls in just 11 games played, that’s about 27 fouls a game. They have lost games at the foul line, I don’t need to mention the Kentucky game or their most previous game against South Dakota. I need to send them a refereeing video with what is considered a foul/
Robert Covington is this team for the Tigers, and with news now that he has injured his knee the entire fanbase is breathing heavy. It doesn’t seem to be that bad but Covington hasn’t been himself at all. Every number is down for the guy and the Tigers can’t afford that if they want to be a top team in the conference.
This is what they want and need because it seems they just don’t hold onto it. The team averages 18 turnovers a game and has turned it over 200 times this season, that’s more than anyone in the conference. Another reason they want the ball is they have only 70 steals on the year, 3rd worst in the conference.
They need to buy a hyperbaric chamber for their players so they can recover even better. They are on the path of getting better but anytime you have a site considering renaming the injury report the Skyhawk report that’s bad. I hate seeing a team hurt especially when I think they could be something good.
Boy do the Panthers miss Jeremy Granger, they average just 56.1 points a game and are 3rd worse in shooting percentage. We knew this going in though as they had to rebuild a completely new team after most left when the program changed coaches.
