An unidentified Eastern Illinois football player and another student were stabbed at a party over the weekend, according to Charleston, Illinois police.
Charleston Police Lt. Brad Oyer says police were called to a party early Sunday near campus after a reported stabbing and a large fight. Police later discovered that a second student was stabbed and being treated at a local hospital.
No identifying information has been released about either victim, although university athletic spokesman Rich Moser confirmed that one victim was a football player. Moser says the player is recovering from his injuries.
Both victims were released from the hospital after being treated. Police are investigating the incident, and looking for a single suspect.
