After a six-year absence, Murray State will renew their series with SIU starting in the 2013-14 season.
The teams will swap home games for the next four seasons, starting in Murray in the fall.
SIU leads the all-time series 16-14 since the first meeting in 1929, and won the last three games before the previous series ended. Murray State’s last win against the Salukis came back in 2003.
“This is exciting news for our fans that we’ve renewed the series with SIU,” MSU Director of Athletics Allen Ward said. “It’s a game they can easily travel to see and it’s a regional series that will create lots of interest. I want to thank SIU Athletics Director Mario Moccia and the coaching staffs of both teams for getting this series going again.”
“I’m excited that we were able to schedule this game for our fans and program,” MSU Head Coach Steve Prohm said. “The MSU-SIU series is a great non-conference rivalry that the fans would like to see.”
