Starting next week, we’ll begin an April tradition here at OVC Ball, our ridiculously (and almost certain to be wrong) early previews for the 2013-14 season.

We’ll begin at the bottom of this year’s standing with Austin Peay, and work our way up to Belmont.

But first, we want to know what you’re thinking about next season. So vote in a few quick polls:

I think SEMO should win the west next year. They probably have the best returning player in the league in Tyler Stone. They also bring back the second leading rebounder and shot blocker in the league, Nino Johnson. The second leading assist guy in Lucas Nutt. As well as A.J. Jones who started almost every game. They have two three star transfers 6'7" shooting guard Josh Langford from Auburn and forward Wayne Martin Jr. from Central Florida coming eligible. Langford is the former number one high school player out of Alabama. They have a two star recruit point guard that they redshirted C.J. Reese also coming eligible. They have signed a juco shooting guard Darrian Gray that was recruited by Murray and Tennessee State as well as some SEC schools. They have signed one of the best shooting guards in St. Louis in Martavian Payne and they still have a scholarship or two left that they think they are pretty close to filling with some more studs. Last but not least they could get Michael Porter healthy and when he is healthy he is very good.

My big question regarding SEMO: Where's the defense? That was their Achilles heel this past year.
      • mick0158@att.net:
True, but the defense was better toward the end of the year and they are adding bigger more athletic players at the guard position which might also help.
