[Update 6/14] McCree has landed at Louisiana Tech. According to the Orlando Sentinel, McCree says he fits in better in their system than he did at Murray State. He will sit out a season due to NCAA Transfer rules.
After a tumultuous year, a few changes are in store in Murray. According to WPSD Local 6, freshman Erik McCree has decided to transfer from Murray State.
McCree was one of many freshman thrust into the unexpected role of coming off the bench in his first year. The 6’7″ forward played in 24 games, averaging 8 minutes per game. Over those 200 minutes, he scored 38 points, and pulled down 45 rebounds.
Prohm did not give a reason for McCree leaving.
This leaves two scholarships open for Murray State for next season.
Transfers are nothing new to the Murray State program. Since Billy Kennedy took over the program (and perhaps before), at least one underclassman has left the Murray State program virtually every summer.
