If there was any team in the NBA that exemplified what great three-point shooting could do for a team last year, it was the Golden State Warriors. Led by Davidson sensation Stephen Curry, the Warriors made a solid playoff run, despite having a team full of players many people had never heard of before April.
A former OVC shooting sensation is joining the roster. Former TTU star Kevin Murphy has been traded to the Warriors, according to Yahoo! Sports. Murphy was the only player added to the Golden State roster in a trade that sent three former Warriors to the Jazz. The move was mostly a salary dump for the Warriors, who get $24 million in cap relief and Murphy. The salary dump was necessary to sign former Nuggett Andrew Igudola.
Murphy has a non-guaranteed $788,000 contract for the 2013-14 season.
After a strong summer last year following being drafted in the second round, Murphy made the Jazz roster, and played well in the NBA D-League. After that season ended, he joined the Jazz where he played mostly mop-up duty in 17 contests.
