Eastern Illinois is a team I described as full of young talent, and a program I believe is on the rise. This might temper my expectations, somewhat. Last season’s leader scorer, Morris Woods, has been dismissed from the University.

“I really like Morris and the year he had last year,” head coach Jay Spoonhour told the Journal Gazette and Times Courier, “and I hope for nothing but the best for him.”

Woods averaged 11 points and four rebounds a game last season, just one of three double-digit scorers. The other two, Josh Piper and Sherman Blandford do return.

No word on why Woods was dismissed from the University.
