It’s taken long enough, but it appears that former Belmont standout Ian Clark is finally getting some much due attention from the NBA. According to multiple media reports, at least three teams: Golden State, Portland, and Utah, are looking at the combo guard.
If you need a refresher of why we’re so set on Clark getting picked up, the Memphis native scored 33-points in the Las Vegas summer league final, hitting a record seven 3-pointers. He was a regular starter for the Miami Heat summer league team in Orlando, averaging more than 15-points a game over the week.
Simply put, you’d be hard pressed to find a player on any summer league roster that has been as consistently solid throughout the two weeks.
It’s likely Clark could garner some more interest, and could have a few choices ahead of him before NBA summer camps begin.
At least the NBA is finally paying attention.
Just some of those reports:
Sportige – Reports all three teams.
The Tennessean – Ian Clark has options.
Detroit Free Press – NBA teams have eyes for Clark
There really are a whole lot more…but you get the point.
