I’ve been fairly critical of SIUE as of late, so it’s great to see some good news for the Cougars. SIUE has added 2014 senior and Illinois native Jalen Henry.

The 6-foot-8 center chose the Cougars over OVC rival Eastern Illinois, Western Illinois and Wright State according to the State-Journal Register.

As a junior, Henry averaged 10.3 points and nine rebounds for Southeast High School last season. He also earned sports on the Central State Eight Conference first team and the Champaign-Urbana News-Gazette Honorable Mention 75 team.

While he can’t help the team in the upcoming year, it’s good to see the Cougars securing players for their future.
