The Ohio Valley Conference’s coaches and sports information directors have voted on their favorites for the 2013-2014 OVC season. The preseason poll and all-conference teams were announced today in Nashville at the conference’s annual Basketball Media day. The voting panel tabbed Eastern Kentucky as the favorite in the East Division and there was a tie in the West Division between Southeast Missouri and Murray State. Voting took place before Murray State point guard Zay Jackson was reported out of the season with an ACL injury.

Also announced this morning was the preseason All-OVC teams. The coaches and SID’s selected SEMO senior forward Tyler Stone as the conference’s preseason player of the year. The forward averaged 15.5 points per game, 7.8 rebounds and shot just under 50 percent on the season.
Southeast Missouri, Austin Peay and Eastern Kentucky each had two players selected to the preseason teams with Jacksonville State, Belmont, UT Martin and Tennessee State getting one.
