The Gamecocks are adding a bit of size for next season. Jacksonville State has signed 6’8 forward Labarrius Hill out of Parrish high school in Alabama.
“I weighed my options, looked to see where the best was for me and it was Jacksonville State,” Barry told the Anniston Star by telephone yesterday.
Hill was highly recruited, choosing JSU over Murray State, Austin Peay, Western Kentucky, UAB and Troy, to name a few. It’s no surprise so many teams wanted him: Hill led the state in blocked shots last season and led his team in 3-point shooting.
According to Phenom Hoop Report, Hill is coming off a major car accident this summer suffering three fractures in his lower back. Hill told the blog that he really liked the way the coaches are going to use him in their system.
