An already young, inexperienced Racers front court is losing a player for the next month or more. WPSD Local 6 is reporting that Murray State forward Zay Henderson will miss the next 4-6 weeks after breaking his hand in practice.
It’s the second injury to happen in practice this year for Murray State. Guard Zay Jackson tore his ACL and LCL in a preseason practice. He has since left the university.
In Murray State’s only game this year, Henderson played seven minutes, scoring three points and earning three personal fouls. As a freshman played in 17 games, averaging 1.2 points a contest.
While the blow isn’t a major one to the Racers, it does reduce their depth at forward, and leaves them with just nine eligible players, (one of whom is a walk on) adding a greater concern to any foul issues during a game. Around the time of Henderson’s expected return, Murray State will also get the services of T.J. Sapp, who is eligible after the first semester ends.
