The end of the season draws nearer and nearer for all FCS football fans as two more weeks remain in the regular season. As the season draws to the end, we already know who our OVC champion is but the outright title is up in the air (for now). Here are our rankings:

Who would have thought that the nation’s best passing offense could be outdone by the ground game. The versatility of the offense is amazing but lets look at the defense. Head Coach Dino Babers said that if is offense wasn’t so fast, the defense would be one of the best in the country. I agree

No one apparently wants to be number two, so the writers unanimously decided that no one should be ranked second. You're welcome.

The Gamecocks earn a spot in the FCS rankings this week, and are the third different team in the same period. While Jacksonville State is 5-0 on the road this year, they haven't had to face an offense nearly as potent as EIU. The return of quarterback Max Shortell is huge as the passing game returns.

The roller coaster regular season for the Tigers ends this week, the end of 12 straight games. With a possible return of Michael German we could see the Tigers open up the offense as they look to make a final statement for the FCS selection committee.

The Skyhawks are officially what thought they are, which is a question mark to be honest. Running game: check thanks to D.J. McNeil who became the fifth player in UTM history to rush for 1,00 yards in a single season. Passing game is where we thought at the beginning of the season, a question mark of who starts.

Fumbleitis is what we called it and it was quite clever by Catlin. In key games this season, this is what the Colonels have had just that. Eight times the ball went to the turf with the opponents claiming five of them. With the amount of runs the Colonels attempt, you can’t have that in must-win games.

The Racers are all-but locked into this spot of the power rankings. With Walter Powell done for the season, I wonder how one dimensional the Racers offense will be as they lose 13 of their 20 touchdown receptions. Time for senior running backs Jaamal Berry and Duane Brady to carry the load.

The young pieces I mentioned last week fell into place as the Golden Eagles downed SEMO on the feet of quarterback Darian Stone. Stone when healthy has been doing this all year, but the injury bug still lives in Cookeville and you wonder when the curse leaves.

With a running quarterback manning their own offense , the defense couldn’t stop the one they were facing making me wonder how practices go in Cape Girardeau. Sophomore wide receiver Paul McRoberts continues to impress as he is tied for third in the conference with nine touchdown receptions.

Our vacating the No. 2 spot also means Austin Peay fittingly falls from 9th, somehow. 92 yards against the best defense in the conference but six points on the board. Somehow getting that amount of points with that yardage seems like a feat in its own since. If not for a missed field goal, the Govs would have had nine.
