This week, instead of the usual sentence of team analysis, I have a message to each team’s fans. They mostly read, in short: SHOW UP!

Editors Note: Sorry, I forgot this table doesn’t play well with some mobile browsers. Try turning your phone long ways if the text is cut off. If that doesn’t work, you may have to view it on a desktop or laptop computer. I promise to go back to the proper format next week.

Belmont fans, you have the best team in the largest city in the conference, and that includes an SEC team just down the road. There's no reason the Curb Events Center shouldn't be sold out for every game. None. Invite a friend. Bribe them with a post game beer. Just get them to the arena. They might like it.

Putting more than 5,000 in the stands for Jacksonville State this past weekend is great! Here's your challenge: make those 5,000 sound more like 8,000.

I have to be honest, I was a bit surprised to see Morehead was averaging nearly 3,000 fans during their three conference games. Good job. It's time to make some noise online. You've got a good team, let people know about it.

You showed up when Belmont came to town. That's a positive. Keep that going. The OVC race isn't over yet, even though you need some help to catch Belmont. Show up!

You guys have been through thick and thin with the Cougars transfer to Division I, and it appears it may finally be paying off. Your team isn't there yet, and your attendance numbers aren't that good. But enjoy this feeling now. Because there's still a lot of games to play this year, and we don't know what's going to happen.

Hi, Jacksonville State fans. I'm glad many of you have found the school's basketball court! All joking aside, I haven't heard from almost any of you again this year. I assume you're out there. Give us a shout. We're friendly...ish.

If you can make a road game: do. TTU is struggling away from Cookeville, and could use the support away from the friendly confines of the Eblan Center.

You have one mission, and you know what it is: Friday night, show up, get crazy. This is my favorite road trip every year. You haven't disappointed yet, even when your team wasn't all that great the past two years. Let's keep that streak going.

It's not that you have the lowest attendance in the OVC that's worrysome...it's that it's half of the next smallest attendance. I've been to Charleston. Unless I've missed it, there's isn't much of a "scene" there. It's a perfectly good, very nice city. But I can't imagine there's exactly a ton of night-life options there. It's two hours, and your team is once against fighting for a spot in Nashville. Get out there!

Ah Semo. You're really the reason for today's fan advice. I really like you guys, I do. You're passionate, you're loud, you're knowledgeable. But it's time to face a simple truth: your team isn't that good right now. You're in 10th place in the OVC standings. And this isn't after one or two games. This is halfway through conference play. HALFWAY! 10th place doesn't go to Nashville. Can things change? Sure, they can. But there's a reason I don't have a lot of nice things to say about this team: they're not playing well. They're not. That's why they're below .500. Those two things are related. Please, don't stop harassing me on Twitter. But can we at least agree that SEMO isn't going to win the OVC title? Because they're not. They may have an outside chance at the tournament title, but they've got to get there first.

Fun Fact: There are two schools with a higher reported attendance for women's games then men. This is one of them. While I am in love with the support you give your amazing women's team, is there something burning on the stove at home? Can you not stay for two more hours. I can't believe I'm asking that, but I am. The Skyhawks aren't out of the race for Nashville yet, and could use the support down the stretch.

Okay, so things aren't good right now. I get that. But you should absolutely start a campaign for Patrick Miller to be named Player of the Year. Because you can make a great case he should be. Get on twitter and facebook, and start a movement!

"There's no reason the Curb Events Center shouldn't be sold out for every game. None. Invite a friend. Bribe them with a post game beer." I agree wholeheartedly. Unfortunately many Belmont alumni from our days as a Baptist school believe that enjoying a post game beer would be giving into the temptations of Satan!
  2. Brad Awalt:
I wish our attendance was better and I do invite people to games. Looking at last 5 years, attendance has increased quite a bit - 1486 in 2009-10, 1802 in 2010-11, 2012 in 2011-12, 2734 in 2012-13, and 2702 this year. Keep in mind that being in Nashville there is competition with Vandy, predators, tsu, and lipscomb and most OVC teams don't have to compete with other college and pro teams in the area.
