If you like pitchers duels then the Eastern Kentucky vs East Tennessee State game was right down your alley for the first half of the game. It took until the 5th inning for either team to get on the board and the two teams only had a combined 4 hits going into the bottom of the 5th.
In the bottom of the 5th Trey York belts a solo shot and Jordan Sanford tripled to scoring Zach Mize.
ETSU would add one in the 6th when Kevin Phillips singles scoring Clinton Freeman making it 3-0.
In the 7th Dylan Tritsch singles to right scoring Jordan Sanford making it 4-0.
Eastern Kentucky attempts to rally back in the 8th when Cole Warrenfeltz doubles to score Ben Fisher but that would be all they could score.
Kyle Nowlin started the 9th with a double. TJ Alas would put runners on the corners with a single and Bryan Soloman would bring Kyle Nowlin home with a single of his own to make it 4-2 with runners on the corners and just 1 out. Taylor Blair would hit a sac fly to make it 4-3 but that’s where the rally ended.
With the loss EKU drops to 4-7 while ETSU moves up to 6-6.
The player of the game goes to TJ Alas who went 3-4 with a double and two singles with a run scored.
