Eastern Kentucky (12-15) fell twice in a three game series against Missouri Valley foe Evansville Purple Aces.
In game one, Evansville defeated Eastern Kentucky 8-2. Eastern Kentucky committed three errors to help Evansville score 8 runs in the first four innings. Evansville pitcher Kyle Freeland went five innings striking out 10 EKU batters.
The second game of the series Evansville won the game 12-1. The Colonels lone run in the game came off a wild pitch.
The final game of the three game series was played this afternoon and it saw the Eastern Kentucky Colonels avoid the three game sweep with a 3-2 game victory.
Sean Hagan hit a home run and scored in the fifth inning to lead the Colonels in the victory. Hagan was 1-3 with a home run and hit by a pitch.
Freshman Caleb Johnson pitch six giving up just two runs and striking out two, while picking up the win.
Eastern Kentucky returns to action on Wednesday when Marshall comes to Richmond for a mid-week game.
