The last year has been tough for Tennessee State. After rising and battling at the top of the conference, TSU fell on hard times, and the fallout is continuing. According to The Tennessean, Jamonte Graham and Jamontae Davis are leaving TSU and transferring to JUCO school Columbia State.
Both are Nashville natives, and recruited by teams across the Volunteer State. Graham started in six games last year at TSU, averaging 4.5 points. Davis sat last season out at TSU for academic reasons.
“They’re both obviously high-level college basketball players,” Columbia State coach Brian Collins told the paper. “Jamonte Graham is a combo guard; tough and hard-nosed. He has a chance to come in and be a big piece of what we’re trying to do. Jamontae Davis is almost 6-9 and he shoots the ball like a guard. He’s got a chance to go on and play in the SEC.”
Tennessee State is coming off a 5-25 season, and will be led by new head coach Dana Ford this fall.
