Morehead State has added a point guard for 2015. According to his own twitter account, Father Lopez PG Malik Maitland has committed to the Eagles.
ESPN has rated Maitland as a three-star prospect, saying the 5’10 guard “is an excellent open court and drive, draw and kick passer.”
As for why he chose the Eagles, Malik told The Dayton Beach News-Journal, “It is an upcoming program. When I got there, it was crazy. I had a great time, and it was great to go to practice and watch how they operate and help each other be the best they can be.”
The newspaper added that Maitland’s final four schools included Liberty, Norfolk State and North Carolina Central.
As a junior, the point guard averaged 22.1 points a game.
