Tennessee Tech opens the season hosting Piedmont International Friday. Here’s a look at some of the important numbers:

The Good

13A baker’s dozen scored in Tennessee Tech’s exhibition win over Bluefield College, and all saw double-digit minutes. While one could make the argument this is a second exhibition game, this one will count towards the statistics — but expect a lot of players to get involved on the stat sheet.

15Newcomer Charles Jackson had a great night on the boards, pulling down 15 rebounds in the exhibition win. The Golden Eagles were a strong rebounding team last year, and the JUCO transfer could help keep TTU strong on the glass this year as well.

The Bad

88.5Piedmont International is from a league a lot of people haven’t heard of. But they’re 3-1, and averaging 88.5 points per game. So they might not be a 76-point pushover, like a recent lower division team to play Tennessee Tech. (I’d still a spread near 50, personally…)

The !?*#%!$@

39-1Tennessee Tech is 39-1 in the last 40 home openers. It’s not as many lesser division teams as you might think: three of the last five home openers have come against Division I opponents.
