UT Martin opens the season at Marquette Friday. Here’s a look at some of the important numbers:

The Good

55.9%Marquette graduated four players last season, who combined for 55.9% of their scoring. They do return Todd Mayo, an 11-point per game scorer last year who you don’t want to send to the free-throw line. (81.4% from the charity stripe last year) Their seniors also included their top three rebounders.

57.1%UT Martin hit 8-14 from three-point range in their exhibition win over Blue Mountain State, and if you take out Deville Smith‘s 0-4 shooting, the rest of the team was 8-10 from deep. The Skyhawks haven’t finished the year in the top-half of the league in three-point shooting since the 2008-09 season.

The Bad

.159There’s a new coach at the helm, but over the past five seasons, UT Martin is just 11-69 on the road. They did with two non-conference road games last year — at Samford, and at Presbyterian.

2002The last time UT Martin won a true road season opener? 2002, against St. Louis.
